Clinical Administrator

Old Bridge Surgery is seeking a full-time Clinical Administrator to support our busy practice (9,500 patients).

As a Clinical Administrator your role will be varied and will include an array of administrative tasks and duties such as:

  • Process patient related correspondence from healthcare providers and update information on the clinical record
  • Support the surgery flu vaccination recall programme, including identifying eligible patients, making appointments and participating with flu clinics
  • Oversee the surgery Intranet, including co-ordinating the content and ensuring the information remains up-to-date
  • Other patient/clinical related tasks as required

The successful candidate would ideally have healthcare experience with a proven track record, although all applications will be considered.

They will also have excellent organisational skills, the candidate must demonstrate a positive and pro-active approach to work and be highly proficient in the use of IT systems and able to work as part of a team and independently.

Hours:  37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

 

Receptionists

The roles are approx. 18 to 20 hours per week each, plus overtime. These important positions are often the first point of contact our patients have with the practice, either in person or on the ‘phone, and play an valuable role in helping our patients to find the services they need and the practice to run smoothly. The team also provides assistance to the doctors and other practice staff in pursuit of their duties, including making and receiving telephones calls and a variety of administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will project a positive and friendly image to our patients: essential requirements for the post include

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good computer skills
  • Calm and friendly manner

The roles are part time and come with the expectation that the post holders will take a share of overtime to provide cover for colleagues as needed to support the reception team.

The practice operates from its main site beside the river in Looe and from two branches in Polperro and Pelynt. We serve a population of about 9,500 patients.
