Dr Ian RoyBA (Hons) Cantab (1979), MBBS (Royal Free 1985), Dip Obs, DCH Dr Roy joined the practice in 1991 and is now the Senior Partner. Within the practice he has responsibilities for Medicines Management and has an interest in Children’s Medicine stemming from his time in New Zealand working in Paediatrics. Dr Roy continues to enjoy living and being a GP in and around Looe and the Pelynt branch surgery due to its lovely location and the friendly community.
Dr Johanneke KoddeMRCGP DFFP DRCOG Dr Kodde originates from the Netherlands. She went to medical school in Belgium and trained as a GP in Plymouth. Her medical interests include Women’s Health (including coil fitting), Children’s Health and Mental Health. She is a trainer and supervisor for GP trainees and Foundation Year 2 doctors. Married and a mother of 3 children her leisure interests include running, cycling, yoga and drinking coffee with friends.
Dr Hannah MogfordMBBS (London), BSc MRCGP Dr Mogford is originally from Wales but moved to London to attend medical school and qualified in 2005. She moved to Cornwall in 2006 and completed her GP training here and has been working at the Old Bridge Surgery since 2011. She enjoys the variety of specialties within General Practice and supervises the medical students that attend the surgery. Dr Mogford is married with 2 children. She enjoys sailing, swimming and travelling.
Dr Katie GummowMBS (London), MRCGP, DFCGP, DFRSH, DRCOG, Cert Med. EdDr Gummow grew up in Looe and went to St. Mary’s in London to study medicine. She then did her GP training in Burton and worked in the Midlands for several years. She returned to be near her family in Looe in August 2014. She takes a keen interest in the management and business side of the Practice. She is a GP trainer and supervisor of FY2 doctors and medical students. She enjoys running, sailing and other outdoors activities, with local clubs and with her children, to keep them (and herself) out of trouble.
Dr Patrick SouthamMBBS (London) BSc MRCGP Dr Southam qualified in London in 1998 and had been a GP in his home town of Watford for 11 years. Having fallen in love with Cornwall, after holidaying here for the last 20 years, he decided to move to Looe and joined the surgery in January 2017 as a new Partner. His main hobby is cycling and he likes the challenging local terrain. His clinical interests include minor surgery, joint injections, orthopaedics and clinical commissioning.

Dr Claire AllenMB ChB 1983 After 26 years as a GP in Bristol, Dr Allen joined the Practice as a part time GP having re-located to Cornwall with her husband. She has 3 grown up children who have all now left home and is enjoying being part of the team at Old Bridge Surgery. Living in a nearby village she is enjoying the delights of the Cornish countryside, walking, bird watching and tackling her large garden. As a long term experienced GP she seeks to maintain “traditional values” in an ever changing political and cultural environment and sees herself as a “generalist” rather than having specialist interests.
Dr Paul StephensonMA BM BCh DRCOG DGM FRCGPDr Stephenson joined the Practice in August 2015. After graduating from Oxford in 1987 he did his General Practice training in Windsor and then moved to Haverhill in Suffolk where he was a Partner in a large 18,000 patient practice for 24 years. He has a special interest in respiratory diseases and is an Honorary Research Fellow in the Allergy and Respiratory Research Group at Edinburgh University. He has just retired as Joint Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal npj Primary Care Respiratory Medicine (www.nature.com/npjpcrm) to become Editor Emeritus. He was made a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2008. After falling in love with Looe a few years ago, Paul and his wife Petra (who teaches violin and piano) were delighted to relocate to the town. Their 3 children are also delighted since this means they can visit regularly! Paul and Petra’s interests include choral singing and chamber music, gardening and hill walking.

DipPPM., FCMAFor twenty years Mark has worked in a variety of commercial roles in the industry before taking up the position of Practice Manager in a Bristol practice hoping to use his business experience for the benefit of General Practice. He is married to a GP so had some insight into what he was taking on! After 10 years as a Practice Manager in Bristol he moved to Cornwall and joined Old Bridge Surgery in 2015 and is keen to see the Practice thrive.
